Time Line

Hello everyone.  God is really doing some rockin things when it comes to COC and its future.  After some very profitable meetings with some folks in positions to really help us out God has opened some new doors for us.  Originally we were planning on launching on Feb. 17th of 08 in the Navo Middle School.  I was never really at peace with this location or my relationship with those we were working with us at that campus.  They were great people but God just seemed to have never put His stamp of approval on it in my heart.  My prayer and desire from day one has been for us to meet in the Savannah Elementary school.  God gave me that vision and direction many months ago but used a variety of road blocks to show me how good and gracious He is to me and to this work.  After a wonderful lunch with the principal of Savannah (by the way, he is a great Christian man) we have begun making plans to possibly meet on that campus on Saturday evenings while the other church in that school meets on Sunday mornings.  (They will be leaving that facility after the last Sunday in August of 08) We have made adjustments to our calendar knowing that God’s schedule is the one we are following.  Here is the tentative plan as we advance from here:

Saturday, March 22nd begin a Worship and Bible Study service called “Access”.  Right now we are looking at the hours of 5 to 7 p.m.  We will have live worship and I will be teaching the core values and doctrines of COC metro as we develop the Gather...Grow...Give....& Go philosophy of ministry.

“Access” will meet every Saturday night from that point forward until Sunday, Sept. 7th of 08.

Sunday, Sept. 7th, 2008 ~ Launch Day for Church of Celebration Metro at 10 a.m.  This is the day we will say, “Hello World,” as an official church.

All meetings will take place at the Savannah Elementary campus unless otherwise noted.

“Access” is pivotal to a productive launch.  Along with the building of Life Groups during that time, it is possible to launch with 150 (+) people.  This stuff is exciting.  Think of how many of those 150 could be new converts.  Think about the fact that on our first Sunday as a church we could be having a massive baptismal service.

Of course all of this is subject to God’s change and moving in the life of this baby church.  We don’t want to get ahead of Him but at the same time we don’t want to treat Him as if He is a slow runner.

May God bless each of you as you pray and give to the ministry.

Brad
